About Dr. Bernard McCaffrey
Dr. Bernard McCaffrey, affectionately known as “Dr. B,” is the visionary founder of AeroVeritas, a consultancy dedicated to advancing human-centered design and certification solutions within the rapidly evolving field of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). With over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, Dr. McCaffrey combines deep operational expertise with specialized knowledge in human factors engineering and interface design, making him a leading authority in optimizing the interaction between pilots and innovative aviation systems.
Before founding AeroVeritas, Dr. McCaffrey held key leadership positions at notable organizations, including BETA Technologies, where he led certification and interface design for electric aircraft, and Collins Aerospace, where he contributed significantly to the FAA certification of new avionics systems as a test pilot and principal engineer. His extensive background as a commercial airline captain, boasting over 24,000 flight hours, provides him with unique insights into operational requirements, pilot workload and system interactions.
AeroVeritas offers a comprehensive range of consulting services, including the development of human factors certification roadmaps compliant with regulatory standards, advanced AAM flight deck interface design, and operational simulation testing.
